Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while objects with strong bases, such as Eth titans don't change in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will need to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the component or material needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or Item Upgrading legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph the old one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level up however, the materials needed aren't as high. This lets players focus their efforts on a couple of key items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across several items.

This will allow the item level upgrade to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Power and it resets to 0 on failure or increases when the upgrade is successful.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it is able to get an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes available is determined by the item's type. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will have only two affixes available for it, whereas a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is located in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item is not able to get to its maximum level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower success rate.

To determine the height of a building engineers employ a level to compare the measurement with a known reference point such as a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the level and backsight rod, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to the highest degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically improve an item's strength and damage as well as other attributes. This can be done via the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling is costly and should only be done in very rare instances.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to obtain Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This can be either good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded Best item upgrade may have a unique bonus that increases the item's power by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are offered into the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater your chance of getting an exclusive bonus.

The game also features various sets which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is an excellent method to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster route to a more powerful character, allowing them to reach higher levels and progress in the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in different ways. They could be of various sizes, have no elements, or only contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or organize information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways such as size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Sets of armor that offer high defense values or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items can increase their defense and improve their performance when it comes to damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the required items to upgrade item it. The attributes of the item will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the requirements for upgrading specific items.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their performance. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
