World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

upgrade item components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for instancefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player can get up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure how much it will be improved after an update.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be costly and there is a high possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade can ruin upgrade item Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

The use of a Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns several Technology Points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player upgrade a piece of equipment, the base item will be replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea however it shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants a buff if the player continuously enters or exits water. This item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of the non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its base value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from regular gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will still need to take every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the expenses mentioned above.
