World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will increase an additional 3% of the previous damage every time it's upgraded.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the item to the upgrade (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment using less Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade item can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Glyphs

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs You will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each level of item level upgrade requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained like crit chance, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or reloading speed). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value.
